100 Days

Saturday, July 25 marks 100 days until the general election. That means we have 100 days to defeat Donald Trump, flip the Senate, maintain our House majority, and get down-ballot Democrats elected across the country.

This weekend, the DC Democratic Party has partnered with the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) to organize a Weekend of Action for Michigan Democrats. Senator Gary Peters is in a tight race, and as a co-sponsor of S.631, the Washington, D.C. Admissions Act, we are excited to be helping him secure a victory. Trump only won Michigan by roughly 10,000 votes, and the DC Democratic Party’s volunteer base can play a substantial role in making sure the state goes blue in November.

The DC Democratic Party is ramping up our out-of-District volunteer program to make sure our strong Democratic base is working to build support in battleground states. We will continue to organize phone banks and other volunteer events for Michigan, as well as for other states with Senate candidates who support statehood. We will also be promoting events from House candidates and state legislature candidates. Our lives are on the line,” DC Democratic Party Chair Charles Wilson said. “Another four years of Donald Trump could mean the end of this country as we know it. If we don’t flip the Senate, we will continue to be in gridlock, and our policy priorities like affordable health care, economic justice, police reform, and DC statehood will continue to be stuck in legislative limbo. The time to get involved is now. Don’t wake up on November 4th feeling like you could have done more.”
